Coastal Scents 88 Shimmer Palette Review

With an array of colors, this palette offers the ability to create neutral looks to colorful looks. I decided to get the shimmer palette and suprisingly I'm not one to use alot of shimmery shadows. The "shimmeryness" isn't too over powering for me but if I were to rewind time, I would have gotten the matte platte that is available.

Besides that i still really like this palette. With some colors, the shimmers aren't that intense so that I am pleased with. The pigmentation is great. Using this palette gives my looks alot of intensity. One thing to be aware of though is the fall out. Make sure to tap of any excess from the brush or you WILL have fallout!! All in all I like this palette and I'm not even a shimmer fanatic.

For about $20 you're getting 88 different colors on the rainbow. Thats about 23 cents an eyeshadow- not bad but they are tiny compared to a MAC eyeshadow. This is a great palette for beginners as well- due to so many colors being in one palette!! So you should give this a try- it would be a good buy.
Here are a few swatches of some colors. Here you can see just how pigmented they really are!!

You can find this and other palettes and combo sets @ www.coastalscents.com . Packaging and shipping was great AND quick. Give these palettes a try- you won't regret it.

For those who already own this what sre your thoughts on this or any other Coastal Scents palette?

My Favorite Lip Moisturizers

I have been using these two products for the past two- three years and I just love them. They keep my lips soft, smooth and moisturized. After my weekly lip exfoliation I apply the Carmex...it does a great job at keeping my lips moisturized and not too dry after my lip scrub. I also apply this whenever I get out of the shower before i put on my makeup for the day. This is also great becuase it helps prevent cold sores from popping up which are always a nuisance.

During the day after my lipstick/gloss has worn off I pull out my Blistex Silk and Shine which has SPF 15 so it protects my lips from getting sunburn. This almost feels and looks like a gloss- so silky and shiney- hence the name LOL. I normally carry this around in my purse/clutch and use the Carmex at home.

This combination keeps my lips nice and smooth.. who wouldn't want that-- right?? Another plus too is they smell really good- to me at least. Anyways these are great products to use if you want to achieve soft smooth lips- or you can always use your own favorites but always remember to keep your lips moisturized and protected especially in the upcoming weather change.

What is you favorite lip moisturizer?? Hope you enjoyed.

Coastal Scents Gel Liner Review

If you can't tell from the picture already- this stuff is GREAT!! It is so smooth, so creamy and very pigmented. This glides on your eyes so nicely. Being that it is so opaque it gives you a very intense look. It lasts very long and doesn't smudge at all. You can even use this on your waterline if you haven't found a great pencil eyeliner to give you the look all day. Having such a creamy consistency these gel liners don't dry out. I have had mine for 3 or 4 months and it is still as creamy as day one and they last long. They come in numerous colors from dark and sultry to bright and colorful.

How much is this you ask? $15..NOPE.....$12..NO...$10 not even close. Coastal Scents sells these wonders at only $6.95. Hows that for afforadle and great quality. The only downer is this product and many more wonders can only be found online at www.coastalscents.com. But for the quality and affordabilty i would definitely check these babies out and hey- you might even find something else on the site you like!!

Nilla ;)

p.s After about 5-6 months I have now find that this is getting dried out so it does last quite a while if stored properly.

My Everyday Go-To Products

Hey Bellas- I know all you have at least one thing that you cannot leave the house without using- beauty related of course! To the left are some products I use almost EVERYDAY and all are so affordable. If i don't use all I most definitely use one or two out of this bunch.

One of my favorite eyeliners is the e.l.f Mineral Eyeliner in black and this is just a must have for me. I can't go with out wearing eyeliner it just doesn't look like me when i look into the mirror LOL. And i also pair this with Covergirl Lash Blast Mascara that i have fallen in love with and have been using faithfully the past 2 years. It does wonders in legthening and volumizing my lashes!

The other products are all from e.l.f I made my first purchase from this company a few months ago and have fallen in love with these items.
I really like their mineral lipstick in Rosy Tan. It is about the same color as my natural lip color just more intense. It is smooth n creamy and i LOVE it.

If i decide to glam up my eyes with some eyshadow I use the Mineral Eyeshadow Primer. This really helps their intensity last all day- and i have had one or five occassions (LOL) where i didn't take my makeup off at night (which i don't recommend) and the shadows are still there in the morning-but WOW right?!?

I use the eyebrow kit in Light and I like how it comes with a wax (lighter) and a powder(darker). It helps keep my brows in place and looking great all day.

My last go-to product almost everyday it the Blusing and Bronzing Duo. Although when I first got this product i didn't like the amount of shimmer, that doesn't bother me anymore, it seems as if it has worn off since i use it so much. I really like these two together.

So thats me- simple, quick and affordable unless i decide to GLAM IT UP! What's your go-to products, leave a comment- I'd love to know.

First Ever Coastal Scents Haul

Hey Bellas

I'm back with another haul. This time its from the very popular Coastal Scents. These products and more can be found at http://www.coastalscents.com/ .

I was super excited about ordering from this company becuase I heard alot of raves about this company on Youtube.

I've always had my eyes on the 88 palettes EVERYONE uses on Youtube so I finally gave in and bought one. I decided on the shimmer palette.

I also got my hands on the Gel Liner (black) and Camo Quad Concealer (medium), also highly raved about on Youtube and other blogs. I'm loving the Gel Liner- still working with the Camo Quad.

I have started my quest to find a good foundation for me so I ordered samples of the Under Cover HD Foundation. These are perfect especially if you are just trying out a brand and not sure how it will react to your skin or if you are uncertain on which shades to purchase. I decided to get 3B, 4, 4B and 5 to find my perfect shade for future purchases if it WOWs me.

I've been wanting the brushes I ordered for so long and I'm glad I got them. I got a Duo Fiber Stippling Brush, Angled Eyeliner Brush and a Pencil Crease Brush- all of which I really like. I still need work with them so follow up review will be given.

As a gift I got a sample of Flamingo Glitter, not much was given but still was cool. Haven't found anything to use it for as yet so for now it sitting in my makeup bag since its so tiny and cute.

Overall I really like this company. Prices are very reasonable and shipping is amazing. My order was shipped in ONE day- crazy right?!? That really impressed me. I can't wait to use these products and get back with great reviews of course cause after one use of these items -except the foundation which hasn't been touched yet- I was really pleased.

I give Coastal Scents TWO thumbs up!! For now but I'm sure it will stay like that. Hope this was helpful and not too long. Thanks for reading- look out for in depth reviews of ALL above items.

So fingers and toes crossed for tonight that we are victorious and finally get that trophy back in our hands.

So to all my bellas that are Celtics fans,

And even if you're not, smooches from--

UPDATE: As I am sure all of you know by now Celtics did not win- Lakers became the 2010 NBA Champions. Congrats to them!! But we will be taking that trophy home next year- Celtics Baby- all day everyday!! :)

E.L.F Dollar Line Review

E.L.F Dollar Line

Hey Bellas,

This is the first out of three reviews from my big haul from E.L.F- enjoy!!

Here's a photo of the product I got from E.L.F's dollar line that I spoke about in my last post. I did go a little crazy but come on its only a dollar!!

I got:
-the ELF Professional Set of 12 Brushes
-all of the Brightening Eye Color Quads better know as " ELF quads"
-3 Tinted Moisturizers in Light Beige, Apricot Beige and Honey
-Tone Correcting Concealer in Rosy Beige
-2 Super Glossy Lip Shine in Goddess and Malt Shake

All these products can be found at their website www. eyeslipsface.com .

I am planning on doing an ELF Quads Tutorial series on some of my favorite quads. They will include swatches of the product and a picture/video tutorial. I am very excited to be doing them so keep a look out!!

Let's get on with some swatches.

This was my first time using a Tinted Moisturizer and I love the concept of it. Not only does it moisturize but it gives a light coverage which is great for summer and for those who don't like it all packed on. It does have an orange scent which smells quite yummy. But for those of you who aren't into the whole fragrance thing this wouldn't be a product for you. I don't mind it at all. One thing that does bother me though is how it tends to make your face oily which isn't good for those who already have oily skin-- like me. :( I do have to say, ELF has opened my eyes to a wonderful thing and my search for more Tinted Moisturizers begins!! LOL

The Tone Correcting Concealer is a liquid concealer which is not thick at all. It gives a very sheer.light coverage so I find myself using another concealer on top of it- of cream consistency. I did buy a very light color just because that is what i like to use under my eyes but if i purchase this again i will probably get a darker color, maybe the Apricot or Light Beige. This too has an orange scent- YUM!

As for the Glossy Lip Shines, I absolutely love them! The smell is awesome- grape vanilla YUM-E! My boyfriend also loves it LOL ;)...Anyway the consistency is real thick but not sticky- unless you load all on, which you don't need to do with these. It does have a long wear and I love it! The swatches on the site are a bit off so hopefully mine give you a better idea. To the left is Malt Shake and to the right is Goddess.

Hope you Bellas enjoyed my review on my purchases from the E.L.F Dollar Line. Go and check them out for some great buys.

Check out my next posts on the Studio and Mineral Line reviews. Comment and subscribe. Feel free to request anything and I will try get it done for you ASAP.

Until next time Bellas- remember makeup is also a girl's best friend!

E.L.F Mineral Line Review

E.L.F Mineral Line

This post is gonna be a short one. I didn't purchase that many things from their mineral line. Just like the studio line, these are packaged in sleek, black containers what I just love. It makes everything so professional looking!
Anywho- here we go!

The most popular thing from their mineral line I would say is the Mineral Eyeshadow Primer. It is a nude color but as you blend it onto your eyelid it becomes sheer/clear. It starts off as a tick liquid not quite a cream and as you blend it all over your eyelid it becomes very matte and dry. The texture is quite oily so its amazing how it becomes so matte. I personally love this product. I had this on for almost a whole day and even though it lost some intensity it didn't crease- I even slept with my makeup on. Even though that is not good at all to do it shows this stuff WORKS!!

I also bought 3 Eyeliners, all in black. They are the screw up ones which I prefer. I just have a thing about eye pencils but that doesn't mean I don't use them. Anyway these are quite pigmented and kind of creamy, not anything crazy. They have a long wear not on the water line though but does smudge easily. Sometimes that is a plus for some people. I bought one for my mom and she really likes it and so do I.

Lastly I bought two Lipsticks in (from left to right) Nicely Nude and Rosy Tan(. These are very creamy and kind of pigmented, not super pigmented. I love my Rosy Tan lipstick, Nicely Nude I'm not so hot about. The color is gorgeous but i think there is something wrong in the manufacturing of it. It doesn't go on smoothly at all. The other one i got is perfect nothing is wrong with it. I wish the Nicely Nude wasn't faulty because its a really pretty color.

See there you go short and sweet!

Hope you guys enjoyed my 3 reviews on my products I bought from the three different lines E.L.F offers. Check them out @ www.eyeslipsface.com .

Look out for my blog post on my favorite and not so favorite products from my big haul. Comment and subscribe. Open for requests as well :)

E.L.F Studio Line Review

E.L.F Studio Line
Hey there Bellas

Here are the items I purchased from the studio line E.L.F has. I love the packaging they are in. They are packaged in sleek black compacts and container- very professional looking and I just love it.
The one thing i was really excited about getting was the Kabuki brush. I don't know why i just love the name. Weird huh? It is a great brush very soft and blends everything wonderfully.
Another amazing buy was the Makeup Remover Wipes. They are totally awesome. I wish i had purchased more. You get 20 towelettes in one package. These take off your makeup the first wipe. Although they leave your face really wet and greasy they work wonders. Great buy!

I also bought the Warm Bronzer. I'm not sure if you can tell from the photo but this bronzer does have a shimmer to it. Personally I don't like shimmery bronzers and i know you're probably saying then why did I buy it- well I couldn't tell it was shimmery by the picture they have the the website and I didn't really bother reading. So that is one big tip always read the description of any item you are buying!!!! Anyway other than it being shimmery the pigmentation is alright. It blends very easily and after you blend, i find some of the shimmer goes away so that a plus.

The Contouring Blush and Bronzer Powder is a great dupe for NARS Orgasm and Laguna Duo. These are also very shimmery- again was not aware!! UGGH!! Although they are shimmery they are also very pigmented. I don't find myself using this very often but i do love the pigmentation of it. Maybe they will lose their shimmer over time just like the warm bronzer. I think I'm gonna give this another try because i really want to like this product. The colors are gorgeous. Wish me luck!!

Here is the Eyebrow Kit in Ash. I really love this product. Perfect colored powder for my features. I don't find myself using the wax (lighter color) a lot of times. I do like using it when i use the Eyebrow stencils though. The swatches online for this particular color (Ash) is FAR from the color it actually is and I hope you can see that from my swatch. I definitely would buy this again though!

Now this product was an experience for me. This is the Corrective Concealer palette. I never worked with one of these things so I'm not sure if i am using it correctly but I mean how hard can it be. They are a creamy consistence but very sheer. Its a build able concealer. I normally use the pink color under my eyes to counter act the dark/green circles I have. The green i mix with the light flesh colored concealer to over up or reduce any redness i might have on my face. I do see a difference when i use the green and light concealer together but nothing with the pink.

The High Definition Powder was a loss for me. I really see no difference in my makeup after I use this. Its suppose to "mask fine lines and imperfections for a brilliant complexion" but for me it just makes my makeup look white. I just don't like it and see no need for it. Its a large container but it only is half full which is kind of a rip off. I don't like this product and I won't be buying it again.

Lastly I purchased three Nail Polishes in the colors Nude, Mod Mauve and Smokey Brown (same order as in swatches). Just some advice- do not go by the swatches they have on the site. Hopefully my swatches will show the major difference between real life swatch and an online swatch. Other than that I really like these polishes. They dry quickly and are very build able. I like the colors i chose even though they weren't the same as online. Good Buy!

Well I hope you enjoyed this review on some products from the Studio Line E.L.F offers. I enjoyed most of my buys from this line. Just wish some of the swatches were better that's about it. Check them out @ http://www.eyeslipsface.com/ and remember these are my opinions-you may like them. You never know if you like something until you try it. Please keep that in mind.

Comment and subscribe. Feel free to ask requests. Thanks again for reading.

E.L.F Haul

E.L.F Haul

Hey Bellas--

So a few weeks ago I purchased this bundle of goodies from Eyes, Lips, Face Cosmetics- better known as E.L.F. They are an inexpensive cosmetic line but are of very good quality.

This was my first time buying from E.L.F. I was really excited to be getting these items cuz I've heard good things about them via Youtube.

I bought a little something from each line they have- $1 Line, Mineral and Studio- just to give it a try. In upcoming posts I'm gonna have reviews/ tutorials on some items and then an overall review on everything, telling which products I liked the best and ones that didn't really amaze me.

So keep a look out for future blog posts. Hope you enjoy. Thanks for reading, feel free to comment and subscribe.
